Wines we Love…

lovamor

Lovamor is made from 60-120 year old Albillo Mayor vines, a grape rescued from the brink of extinction, its appearance is slightly opaque and rose-tinted thanks to its natural production and one week skin contact. It starts off with a little cooked apricot and honeysuckle leading to a slightly savoury and, dare I say, funky forest-floor note, all woven through with ripe pear, underripe banana, wild flowers, and delicate mineral tones. The tannins add support and keep everything in check, leaving you with a wonderfully textured and dry, but long lasting finish. We have a lot of love/amore for the label, Little Red Riding Hood planting a smooch on the lips of the wolf.

Go find your wolf, give them a big kiss, and enjoy this wine!

Touriga Vai Nua trans: Touriga Goes Naked

Using what many would describe as the Queen of Portuguese grapes, Antonio Maçanita has created a wine of beguiling beauty and simplicity. This unoaked expression of the flagship grape has not seen any oak ageing, hence the name, and is all the more intriguing for it. A glorious perfume of ripe blackberry, mulberry, sweet cherry blossom and delicate bergamot marry for an aroma that one could wrap themselves in. Indeed these flavours swaddle the tongue like liquid silk, leaving the drinker satisfied but aching to repeat the experience over and over until ecstasy is achieved.
