We’re talking wines produced from apples, pears and other fruits crafted using the same globally accepted practices as grape wines – made from 100% fresh pressed fruit, not from concentrate.

You might think these are ciders and perries, but did you know that the UK allows producers to use less than one apple or pear juice in most bottles of cider and perry made in the UK? 

And yet there are, for example, 4 kilos of apples in just a half bottle of naturally produced ice cider. 

From bone dry to unctuously sweet, sophisticated sparkling, to elegant still styles, Orchard Wines proposes that these artisan drinks deserve our appreciation as much as any fine wine.

Harvested just once per year, and best appreciated with food, there’s a whole new world of taste and flavour to uncover.

With an average of 7% alcohol, they’re totally natural – no funny additives (the UK allows over 50) – and The Wine Inspector, with his 35 years’ global wine and drinks experience, is here to lead the most exciting masterclass you will attend this year!

Detecting which wine for which occasion and food has been a lifelong journey for The Wine Inspector – a journey that’s taken him to the four corners of the wine world and back: from First Growth Chateaux, to small vineyards in New Zealand (and everywhere in between). 

Although he was the first to bring the mass market wine, Yellow Tail, to the UK, his greatest find has been to discover that, whereas there’s a globally accepted standard for how to make wine, there’s no such law for cider and perry. 

His mission is to do something about this with Orchard Wines – real wines made from apples, pears and other fruits sourced from orchards, not vineyards!
