In order to limit transport, all their fields are located in Brittany, less than 170 km from the production plant.

Original Beans Cru Virunga Chocolate
This rich and sweet dark bar is deeply chocolatey, with the unique flavour of morello cherries and hints of black tea combining to produce a special earthiness. The depth of flavour comes from the rare Amelonado cacao that grows in the Virunga National Park, home to some of the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas.

This very dark milk chocolate bar is wonderfully creamy and smooth, with heights of cappuccino and roasted nuts gently rising as it melts on your tongue. It’s sure to be a delight for all those who love their chocolate and their coffee.
In 2008, Original Beans kicked off a partnership with a few hundred women to grow cocoa and achieve a direct trade price premium. These women, and their bars, are known as the Femmes de Virunga. Their bars, made from the rare Amelonado cacao, are a triple-delight: delicious chocolate, empowering women, and protecting the Virunga, home to the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas.
Standout Chocolate Sambirano Valley
This won an Academy of Chocolate GOLD award. It’s a 60% dark milk chocolate with a thick texture, and a complex fruity flavour. A fascinating chocolate, with little bitterness and lots of creaminess. Fredrik the maker has coaxed out the awesome fruity and citrus notes of the Madagascan cacao.
The beans in this bar are sourced from Bertil Akesson’s estate in Madagascar. Bertil’s beans are famous throughout the craft chocolate world, having produced countless award-winning bars and winning many awards themselves. They typically lend their bars a fruity flavour profile.
Standout Chocolate Maya Mountain Belize
This bar has notes of summer berries, characterised by blackberry and raisin as well as an indulgent chocolate brownie flavour and and buttery finish.
Grown amongst avocado and banana trees, the beans from Maya Mountain in Belize. MMC source beans grown by smallholders and centralise their post-harvest production (including fermentation and drying), marketing and exportation.

Wonderfully fat Brixham Bay Mackerel are steamed whole before being skinned by hand and preserved in olive oil. These are wonderful in salads, as a simple tapas or served on toast as a starter or quick and delicious lunch.
