Testalonga El Bandito Cortez

Gulfi Carjcanti
From Sicily’s extreme south-eastern tip, stretching up to the wild volcanic slopes of Etna, Gulfi’s vineyards can be found in some of the islands most interesting and expressive viticultural areas. Raffaele Catania started making Gulfi wines in the 70’s, at this stage just Nerojbleo grown on the Ibleo mountains. In 1995 Raffaele’s son Vito took over, with a vision to expand their offerings and make the best Nero d’Avola wines available. Three generations of knowledge, experience and winemaking traditions have now been passed down through the Catania family.
This is just stunning. Peach, flint, hazelnut flavours with a salty minerality. The Carricante grapes are hand-harvested in Pachino on the far south of Sicily. Aged on the lees for 12 months before bottling.
Davenport Limney Sparkling
Davenport Winery started in 1991 when Will Davenport planted 5 acres of vines at Horsmonden in Kent. Always a supporter of organic farming practices, the winery was one of the first in England to be certified fully organic in 2000.
The wine has a very clean fruit style with subtle flavours of peach with some yeasty hints from lees ageing. A really refreshing sparkling wine.

Folding Hill Orchard Block Pinot Noir
Tiny volumes of this pinot noir are produced from a dedicated family owned winery. Dark fruits and some oak influence.
Le Soula Blanc
Gerard Gauby was convinced that the old vines at Fenouilledes, at the foot of the Pyrenees benefited from a cooler climate and had the potential to produce wines of really high quality. At 650 metres above sea level these vines are some of the highest in France. The wines are renowned for their purity, vitality and character. They are to be found on some of the finest tables from Paris, London, New York and further afield.
Andert Rulander
A salty, smokey orange wine from a tiny biodynamic vineyard in Neusiedlersee, eastern Austria. Rülander is an alternative name for Pinot Gris, this is slightly herby and one for fans of natural wines.
Niepoort Conciso
Niepoort have been making wines and ports in the Duoro Valley since 1842, the business being passed through five generations. Conciso is the Niepoort interpretation of a fine and elegant Dão, a wine that shows the full potential and character of a very old vineyard, where Baga and Jaen are predominant.
This shows fresh mineral aromas with some complex spicy notes before loads of fresh fruit on the palate. Wild berries, minerality throughout and a long, delicate finish. A great accompaniment to any traditional game dishes.
Domaine Bott-Geyl Grand Cru Schoenenbourg
Jean-Christophe Bott concentrates on low yields, using natural and minimal techniques. There are just six hectares of grand cru vineyards, the wines are organic and biodynamic. Amazing with seafood. Amazing on its own too actually.
Zensa Organic Primitivo 3 Litre Box
The hugely popular Zensa Primitivo, now even better value, and with less packaging. This wine is just so easy to drink! Flavours of cherries, chocolate and rich fruit on the finish. Full-bodied but silky soft and delicious.
Tenute Guardasole Boca
A full bodied, intense Nebbiolo blend with hints of small red fruits, some citrus and medicinal herbs. Shows excellent potential for ageing.

Avignonesi ‘Desiderio’ Merlot
Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is the leading winery in the Montepulciano area of Tuscany. The Desiderio is the perfect balance of sweet fruity aromas with blackcurrant, eucalyptus and cherries on the palate. Desiderio is the name of a Chianina bull, pictured on the label, which lived on the Avignonesi’s Capezzine farm over one hundred years ago and has become a legend. At his time, Desiderio was the largest bull in Tuscany and because of his amazing stamina, this majestic animal helped refine and define the Chianina cattle breed endemic to Tuscany
Ridge Geyserville
This is the longest continuous zinfandel production, starting in 1966. Each year, a slightly different wine of consistent character and quality. Black cherry & plum, oak spice and some minerality.
Ridge Lytton Springs
A single vineyard blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane & Mataro (Mourvedre). Pepper and raspberry aromas leading into dark plum and blackberry flavours with a hint of cocoa. Dry with chalky tannins and a lingering finish. This is excellent now but will gain complexity over the next 10-15 years too.
