Fattoria di Vaira is one of the largest biodynamic farms in Italy. Here they cultivate vegetables, grains and cereals, and produce fresh cheeses, olive oil and honey. After several years of applying biodynamic practices, their soil has been restored, reaching a degree of purity similar to wild soil.

Both men have worked extensively around the world learning their craft including time in Europe, North and South America before settling in Southern Australia. The duo work with several growers across various regions to hand craft outstandingly good wines at their Adelade Hills winery that are seriously well made, bags of fun and extremely drinkable.

Besas is a new project, formed in 2022, committed to producing wines of typicity, by way of precise and quality-focused winemaking, from sustainably farmed vineyards.
Organic Certified, Besas Grüner Veltliner is bright and fresh, this dry white has crisp notes of citrus fruits, ripe peach, and pear alongside aromatic herbs and a hint of white pepper. These follow through onto the palate and are joined by a mineral backbone and a persistent, zesty finish. The beautiful labels were designed in homage to the late great Austrian artist, Herbert Bayer, whilst encapsulating the essence of the layered aromatics and flavour compositions present in this wine.

Lavradores de Feitoria is a unique project, created from the union of 15 producers with vineyards throughout the Douro. This is different to most cooperatives in that the growers all own the company together. Some of their vineyards are over 80 years old and contain varieties such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Boal, Malvasia.
This is a fresh, ripe style of Douro with blackberry, black plum and cherry flavours. A perfect everyday wine.

Olivier Cazenave is the winemaker behind this experimental wine named after a revolutionary song, with roots in Northern Ireland but used as an anti-fascist song by the Italians in the 1940’s. A wild nose of tangerine, blossom and grassy notes, with an almost tropical palate of Sicilian lemons and Mediterannean herbs. A vibrant, energetic wine that pairs well with exotic spicy dishes or curry based foods.
In the heel of Italy, Manduria is considered the birth place of the native Primitivo grape, and was officially recognised as such in the 1970s when a DOC was created for the region.
As well as making high quality examples of Puglia’s most famous vinous export, the co-operative is well versed in producing fascinating whites from Fiano and Verdeca. This rare variety of native grape is picked from 15 to 20 year old espalier trained vines in the middle of September. The nose shows aromatic white flowers mixed with citrus notes as well as pear and pineapple. Dry on the palate this is fresh and mineral like.

Montepulciano is a grape native to Italy, but here in Australia offers bags of character; medium bodied with lovely, velvety, perfumed dark berry flavours and subtle hints of coffee. Fantastic refined winemaking. If you like your characterful Italian reds, it’s well worth giving this a whirl.

A skin contact white wine from a very old variety, sourced from high vineyards in the heart of the Gredos mountains. Fuller-bodied for a white, with great mouthfeel and texture. Lots of great flavours of orchard fruit and florals, plus some sweeter notes, though a dry wine!
The Château Saint Cyrgues estate is located in the South of France, near Nîmes. It faces the Petite Camargue, one of the most beautiful sites in France, and the Mediterranean Sea. The estate is over a hundred years old, but keeps up with the times as it is certified organic.

The Falerio Oris Bianco is an organically-farmed blend of three native grapes that is so easy to drink. Aromas of peach and honeysuckle abound, which continue onto the palate. A medium-body balanced with a well judged acidity, and a fresh finish with a touch of spice.
This Falanghina is an excellent summer wine; dry, fruity and very refreshing with notes of tangy citrus but also sweeter tropical hints of pineapple and white peach. The good acidity keeps the wine balanced and fresh on the palate. A great pairing with fish and shellfish.
From vineyards close to the village of Lirac, this wine offers complex dark fruits with garrigue notes on the nose along side a touch of violets. The delicious and more’ish palate is rich and concentrated showing good depth and fine elegance through to a balanced finish.
Upbeat aromas of sweet peach, citrus and tropical fruits carry through to the palate, which is accompanied by creamy notes and spices from time in oak. This is an energetic white Rioja, a blend of Viura and Tempranillo with generous weight that is perfectly balanced by bright acidity.

With over 250ha of owned vineyards at his disposal, including some of the oldest vines in Rioja, Bodegas Manzanos is fortunately placed to put both the sub-region of Rioja Oriental and the name Manzanos firmly on the map as one of the most important areas and producers in Rioja.
The nose is so enticing, with a strong mineral undertone, overlaid with alluring red berries and a darker, spicier edge. The palate opens with a sweet cherry core wrapped in wild strawberries, mint leaves and liquorice. The body is bright and rounder than you might expect from a young Nebbiolo dominated blend, but we can thank Vespolina and Croatina for that, they pull the Nebbiolo back from its tricky heights and give this wine drinkability and balance. This wine captures all of Alto Piemonte’s charm, with the difficult-to-achieve fruit and structure alongside a fabulous drinkability.
The Serra Mãe is made from 100% Castelão, grown on the free-draining, sandy soils West of Palmela. It was naturally fermented (no added yeast), and then subsequently aged, in concrete vats.
The wine shows cherry and bramble fruits, some green herbs, and a fresh and juicy texture. Its fresh acidity is a perfect match for slow-roast lamb or toad in the hole.
