Red

Produced from Sangiovese grapes from the Salento peninsula in southern Puglia. Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks, with six days spent on skins. No oak ageing.

A fresh, medium-bodied style with red and black berry fruit characters, and a hint of spice balanced by tangy acidity.

This is a brilliant value red from Portugal and punches well above its weight for value for money! Vinous and clean aroma’s with hints of red berry fruits. Round in the mouth and medium bodied. A well rounded finish with mellow tannin.

Cintila is made at the Cooperativa Santo Isidro de Pegoes, founded in 1958. The cooperative is made up of 140 winegrowers and has access to over 1,100 hectares of vineyard located in the Terras do Sado area of the Setubal Peninsula. This coastal area benefits from mineral-rich sandy soils and cooling Atlantic winds.

A rich, raspberry and violet scented wine made from the Castelão grape. Red berries prevail on the palate while young, with spicy nuances developing with age. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins and an easy drinking finish.

Great organic red from Sicily.  Red fruits and cherry aromas, very fresh and balanced.  Perfect with pizza!

This beautiful natural wine has a complex spicy nose with notes of liquorice, chocolate and black currants. The aromas spill over into the fresh and persistent palate.  All hand-picked grapes using the best fruit in the vineyards, and less sulphur in the winemaking.

Fabrizio Vella is a passionate winemaker living and working in Sicily.  Proud of the island that he calls home he wanted to create a wine range that was personal to him, that reflected where he was from. Working with indigenous varieties of Cattaratto and Nero d’Avola he conjured four wines using an organic approach and careful winemaking to create wines that are fresh, exciting, moreish and true to their origin. A Sicilian wine through and through.

The Cramele Recas Estate, owned by Englishman, Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have put in a huge amount of work into transforming their slice of grape growing history into a contemporary winemaking haven. 

This Merlot is a dark violet colour,  well complimented by rich aromas of dark fruits, plum and blackberry, with notes of spice and a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, but full of jammy fruit flavours and even a hint of dark chocolate.  Warm tannins and a fine finish.

Lunardi merlot is a fruity varietal wine with a perfume of cherry, delicate notes of violet and hints of eucalyptus on the finish. 

Rounded, rich and well structured, it pairs well with pasta dishes, cheeses and soups.

Born from the co-op, Cantina Sociale di Ortona, Caldora is based in the province of Chieti in Italy’s Abruzzo region. This is a historic cooperative with over 1500 hectares of cultivated land and around 700 farmers. Striving to reduce their yield per hectare, Caldora was created as the cooperative’s ‘Progetto Qualità’ (Quality Project). 

This is a fruity red with cherries, prunes and vanilla on the nose. Medium-bodied, very well balanced and soft, ready to drink.

A light and delicate red. Strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant with no discernable tannins.  Very, very easy drinking!  Serve chilled, you won’t regret it.

Wild & Wilder were founded by Master of Wine duo Fergal Tynan and Giles Cooke, with Giles also being the winemaker. Both men have worked extensively around the world learning their craft including time in Europe, North and South America before settling in Southern Australia. The duo work with several growers across various regions to hand craft outstandingly good wines at their Adelade Hills winery that are seriously well made, bags of fun and extremely drinkable.

Each year, the slate is wiped clean with regards to what wine they will make (‘Tabula Rasa’ literally translates as ‘clean slate’) every vintage is original with no preconceptions – they allow the quality of the fruit to dictate the blend. Drawing on fruit from historic vineyards across South Australia, this delicious wine captures the very essence of one season in a playful format that just demands to be drunk.

This is really very good indeed, an instant hit! Incredibly well balanced.  Full bodied but so, so easy to drink.  Can’t believe this is only a tenner…  Its kind of a bit Pinot Noiry but fuller, more voluptuous.  Quaffable. 

The Solaz range consists of honest, fruit-forward, contemporary wines made from Osborne’s own family owned vineyards in Tierra de Castilla. Here in Mapica is Europe’s largest family owned, single estate vineyard. Mineral rich, clay-limestone soils, and a warm sunny climate provide ideal conditions for growing grapes.

Kratoshija is a native grape with a long history in the
Republic of North Macedonia which has the same genetic origins as the Italian Primitivo variety. The Tikveš vineyards are sustainably cultivated, the wine shows aromas of exotic fruits combined with hints of pepper, orange, jasmine, herbs and a touch of lemon. Beautifully refined on the palate which is characterised by richness, harmony and a bright lemony finish.
