Chateau Fleur de Lisse Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Château de Lisse was one of the largest vineyards in Saint Étienne de Lisse in the early twentieth century. It is one of the oldest vineyards in Saint Émilion, which explains why the average age of the vines is 45 years. From 1940 to 2015 it belonged to the Minvielle family, who over the years made it prosper and modernised the winemaking business by building a vatting cellar. In 2015, the château was acquired by the Teycheney family, who already owned Château La Loubière and, being passionately interested in farming and wine, decided to farm using biodynamic methods.
Its bouquet is perfectly pure and expressive, displaying notes of red berries, cassis and blackberry, and is followed by an ample, smooth and remarkably balanced palate. The finish is refined, the back-of palate discretely toasty and smoky. It is the ideal accompaniment for grilled meat, lamb chops or blue cheese over an informal meal.
Avignonesi ‘Desiderio’ Merlot
Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is the leading winery in the Montepulciano area of Tuscany. The Desiderio is the perfect balance of sweet fruity aromas with blackcurrant, eucalyptus and cherries on the palate. Desiderio is the name of a Chianina bull, pictured on the label, which lived on the Avignonesi’s Capezzine farm over one hundred years ago and has become a legend. At his time, Desiderio was the largest bull in Tuscany and because of his amazing stamina, this majestic animal helped refine and define the Chianina cattle breed endemic to Tuscany
