In the foothills of the Serra de Estrela (Star Mountain), Quinta das Maias was first established in 1893. It is now a registered organic estate, capturing the freshness and focus that this vineyard offers. The name of the estate derives from the Portuguese word for the month of May, which is when the Weaver’s Broom (known as Giesta, but here as Maias) flowers here.
Malvasia dominated dry white from this registered organic, high altitude estate. Citric, clear and brilliant, with floral notes of lime and lemon. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and structured, in the classic line of the Dão white wines.

A very pale orange pink colour, the nose is elegant with sweet aromas of stone fruits, mineral and anise, supported by apricot, mirabelle plum and citrus notes. Full and well rounded on the palate, with plenty of weight, yet still elegant, lively and light in body. Easy to drink.
Fattoria di Vaira is one of the largest biodynamic farms in Italy. Here they cultivate vegetables, grains and cereals, and produce fresh cheeses, olive oil and honey. After several years of applying biodynamic practices, their soil has been restored, reaching a degree of purity similar to wild soil.
Wild & Wilder were founded by Master of Wine duo Fergal Tynan and Giles Cooke, with Giles also being the winemaker. Both men have worked extensively around the world learning their craft including time in Europe, North and South America before settling in Southern Australia. The duo work with several growers across various regions to hand craft outstandingly good wines at their Adelade Hills winery that are seriously well made, bags of fun and extremely drinkable.

A skin contact white wine from a very old variety, sourced from high vineyards in the heart of the Gredos mountains. Fuller-bodied for a white, with great mouthfeel and texture. Lots of great flavours of orchard fruit and florals, plus some sweeter notes, though a dry wine!
This is a lighter and more everyday style of wine than most of their range. Very juicy, very fresh, and the Loureiro adds a little floral elegance to the Alvarinho’s fruit.

The Falerio Oris Bianco is an organically-farmed blend of three native grapes that is so easy to drink. Aromas of peach and honeysuckle abound, which continue onto the palate. A medium-body balanced with a well judged acidity, and a fresh finish with a touch of spice.
This Falanghina is an excellent summer wine; dry, fruity and very refreshing with notes of tangy citrus but also sweeter tropical hints of pineapple and white peach. The good acidity keeps the wine balanced and fresh on the palate. A great pairing with fish and shellfish.

Tucked behind the Serra Grossa, at the top of the Alrorins-Alcusses valley, is the rural idyl of Celler del Roure, an estate developed by Pablo Calatuyud and his father to shine a light on a more ancient and authentic style of Valencian wine and away from the bulk production the area was becoming more recognized for. His intention to rehabilitate long-forgotten grapes such as Mando, Arcos and Verdil was solidified with the discovery of a 500-year-old cellar on the mountainside property, with subterranean clay amphoras ‘tinajas’ in near perfect condition.
Aged in Tinijas shows the fresh and complex flavours of this wine. Cantina Andriano was founded in 1893, which makes it one of the oldest cooperatives in Alto Adige. The village of Andrian is one of the three that can call their wines Terlaner Classico, a very famous wine in this part of the country.
