Passed on from generation to generation, Domaine Moingeon André et Fils is a family domaine that continues to endeavour to improve the quality of its wines. Tropical and citrussy on the palate with some integrated oak leaving a wonderfully round palate and long elegant finish. Fabulous wine from an excellent maker – pair with white meat dishes!
“Toasty, smoky and funky on the nose with mineral dusting and brooding intensity. The palate is salty dry with laser-beam precision and very funky wild ferment layering of complexity with oak wreathed into the mix with sensitivity. The finish is dry, with lasting salty and tangy flavours. Unique and outstanding wine.” (The Wine Gang)
Absolutely flippin love this! The sub regional series (S.R.S ) represents the very best varietal wines from sub regions that have become renowned for producing wines of exceptional quality, complexity and elegance. Made with fruit sourced from the Wallcliffe sub region, long regarded as home to the finest Chardonnay wines of Margaret River. Peach, pear, grapefruit. All supported by subtle French oak. Seriously good Chardonnay!
The Aurissets prefer a very full-bodied style of Jurançon – all their wines are aged in used barriques which gives complexity and richness to the 100% Petit Manseng Cuvée Marie-Louise. This is a superb Jurançon Moelleux, wonderfully complex aromas of apricot, candied citrus, flowers and exotic fruit with a hint of vanilla. A young wine that is gorgeous now but potentially better in five to ten years.
Ranked among the greatest wines of France, Vin Jaune is made exclusively from the Savagnin grape variety. Planted on blue Jurassic clays, it matures in oak barrels for 6 years and 3 months, without compensating for the evaporation share of around a third of the volume. A veil of yeast forms on the surface of the wine, and protects it from any oxidation. It is during this long ageing that it acquires its spicy aromas of nuts, almonds or curry. Drink as an aperitif, or with chicken, fish, strong cheeses or bitter chocolates.
Owning just a hectare of vineyards in Sancerre, winemaker Emile Balland has triumphed in Coteaux De Giennois, and we are big fans of his wines! This Sancerre is made from thefirst pressed juice of the best grapes, a rich Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
Organically grown grapes from the Island of Sicily. Exotic fruits, white flowers, green apple and lemon. In the mouth it is crisp and refreshing, with flavours of ripe yellow peaches, honeysuckle and nectarine. Enjoy it on its own as an aperitif or with most pasta dishes, fish, shellfish or cheese.
Aromas of sweet spices and ripe apple, followed by citrus notes and grapefruit on the palate. Crisp and refreshing. Serve as an aperitif or with light starters and seafood.
An enormous box of a brilliant white wine from Cantine Povero. This is equivalent to over six and a half bottles, but it will stay fresh for a month after opening (if you can keep it that long). All grown on an eco-friendly estate in Piedmont, this dry cortese is incredible value for money.
