The domain of Château Saint Cyrgues is located at the very place where the church of Saint Cirice des Marges was found ruined in 1654, it was part of the Priory of Saint Cyrgues, dependent on the Abbey of Psalmodie, where the monks were already cultivating vines.
Today, nothing remains of the old Priory. The domain, probably confiscated during the Revolution as ecclesiastical property, changed owners several times.
One of these owners had a son who died in the United States during the War of Independence, in his memory, they give the name of Cuvée Amérique to certain parcels.
The estate of Château Saint Cyrgues has a particularly rich previous life, many people have walked and made this generous soil live.
Moreover, the estate is on the famous road to Santiago de Compostela that connects Saint-Gilles to Spain. If you take the same road in the opposite direction you end up in Jerusalem.
