Domaine Lapierre Raisins Gaulois
£21.00
A fun and fruity 100% Gamay from a 9 hectare plot of 60 year old vines, no added sulphur, and left to rest for two months in bottle prior to release. A bright crimson and purple colour. Packed full of cherry, cassis and raspberry fruit, with a delicate earthy touch to finish. Juicy and light as a feather on the palate, this is a beautiful wine that could also be served chilled on a sunny day.

Description
In 1973, Marcel Lapierre took over the family business in Beaujalais, that began at the begining of the 20th century. In 1981, under the guidance of respected local winemaker Jules Chauvet, Marcel decided to forgo adding any sulpher to his wines, and decided to interfere as little as possible in both the vineyard and the cellar. Which was a rather radical approach to take at the time!
Sadly Marcel passed away in 2010, but his vision lives on in the work of his wife, Marie, and their two children, Mathieu and Camile, who now operate the family winery. The vines of Chateau Cambon are scattered between Morgon and Brouilly, with clutches of plots being upwards of 80 years old. Following in Marcel’s footsteps, his family seek to express the delicate purity of Gamay grown on the granitic soils of the region. Sticking to a fully natural and organic program of vineyard and cellar management, their wines are wonderfully authentic and alive, offering brilliant value for money.
We love them!
