Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris after he left the historic family business – Boutari Wines. A visionary winemaker, Yiannis played a key role in the revival of Greek wine. The estate championed indigenous varieties long before they gained international acclaim and was instrumental in defining the potential of the native red Xinomavro.

Ramnista is named after the local term for “royal hill,” referencing the rolling slopes of the Kir-Yianni Estate in Naoussa. The wine comes exclusively from the Ramnista vineyard parcels, considered the historic heart of Xinomavro, with each vintage carefully selected to express both variety and site.

The nose is intense and expressive, showing aromas of cherry, sour cherry and plum, complemented by herbaceous notes such as tomato leaf. The palate is dry and well balanced, with vibrant acidity, velvety tannins and well-integrated alcohol. Layers of ripe red fruit are supported by spice and subtle hints of vanilla and chocolate, leading to a long, lingering finish.
