Ktima Dio Ipsi, Dialogos Syrah Agiorgitiko
£29.95
In the unspoiled valley of Ilia, in northwestern Peloponnese, lies the organic vineyard of Ktima Dio Ipsi, a name inspired by its distinctive topography which means ‘Two Heights Estate’. Situated on the site of ancient Ilida opposite the island of Zakynthos, this 14.5-hectare vineyard, alongside its two-hectare olive grove, rolls like a wave over two facing slopes of varying altitudes.
In 1990, Christos Kokkalis, a pharmacist by profession with a true passion for fine wine, planted a small vineyard with mainly Cabernet Sauvignon in the Agios Andreas region of Ilia. His dedication led to the creation of the iconic Trilogia wine, a label that garnered significant international acclaim. Years later, in 2014, renowned winemakers Vangelis Gerovassiliou and Vassilis Tsaktsarlis of Biblia Chora took over the estate, just as Kokkalis had wished for. Their ambition was to continue the legacy of crafting wines of distinction that are quintessentially reflective of the terroir and imbued with unparalleled quality and character.
Perfumed aromas of violet and sweet cedar envelop notes of ripe berries and cherry fruit. The luscious palate offers soft tannins and an abundance of wild berried fruit, olives and dark chocolate through to a lasting finish.
