Le Seigneur du Raveil Gigondas
£27.00
Le Seigneur de Raveil comes from the stony terraces and limestone slopes at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the defining ridge that gives Gigondas its structure and lift. The vineyards sit at higher altitude than much of the southern Rhône, which brings cooler nights and slower ripening—key to the appellation’s balance of power and freshness.
The wine is built around Grenache with supporting Syrah and Mourvèdre, fermented traditionally and aged in large, neutral vessels to keep oak influence low. Extraction is gentle, and the aim is clarity rather than weight. The result is a Gigondas that shows ripe red and black fruit, garrigue herbs, and a touch of spice, carried by firm but well‑shaped tannins. The finish is dry, savoury, and grounded in the region’s limestone and clay soils
