Libre y Salvaje, Carinena
£22.00
Cariñena from old bush vines around Almonacid de la Sierra in the Sierra de Algairén. The vineyards are farmed with low‑input, organic‑leaning practices, though not formally certified. Forty‑year‑old vines on stony, silty‑clay soils at around 650 metres give concentrated fruit with natural freshness. Fermented with native yeasts and aged about 12 months in a mix of concrete and large barrels to keep oak in the background.
Dark red fruit, a touch of spice and tobacco, firm but balanced tannin, and a clear sense of this high, stony corner of Aragón.
