Mountain Wine & Food Night, Jura Tasting, Thursday 19th October @ 7pm

For our next tasting we are off to France. 

We absolutely love the wines of Jura, they are something different, very distinctive and very gastronomic.  Located in the mountains of far eastern France, right on the Swiss border, their most famous wine is a very sought after style made from the local grape Savagnin.  This is France’s answer to Sherry, a very nutty style and perfect with the local cheese.  They also grow Poulssard, Pinot Noir, Trousseau and even produce a sparkling Cremant.  This evening we will be tasting all of them.  

Alpine wine demands Alpine foods and Reblochon is a fantastic local variety of cheese found just to the south.  For this evening we are delighted to be joined by the exceptional Studio Pastry who will be preparing a hearty Tartiflette to pair with all those delicious wines.

Layers of finely sliced potatoes and onions with free range smoked bacon lardons and Reblochon, all baked in double cream, wine and garlic.  Served with a delicious garden salad.

This is going to be a wine and food lovers dream tasting of the very best tipples to come out of Jura. It is not to be missed!
