Niepoort is one of Portugal’s most influential independent producers, known for combining deep respect for tradition with a willingness to experiment. Based in the Douro and run by Dirk Niepoort and the next generation of the family, the estate works across several regions—Douro, Dão, Bairrada, Vinho Verde—always with an emphasis on old vines, low‑intervention winemaking, and expressing regional character with precision rather than power. Rótulo Tinto is Niepoort’s take on classic Dão: a blend of local varieties grown on granitic soils and sourced from older vineyards. The style is light‑to‑mid‑weight, built on acidity, savoury detail, and purity.

The wine opens with red cherry, wild strawberry, dried herbs, a touch of pine resin, and a faint floral note typical of high‑altitude Dão fruit. The palate is fresh and bright, with crunchy red fruit, subtle spice, and fine tannins.
