The Tameran winery, based in San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria, is a collaboration between ex-Manchester City footballer David Silva and acclaimed winemaker Jonathan Garcia Lima (of Ocampo and Suertes del Marqués). The pair, both Canary Island natives, met after David tasted Jonatan’s Tenerife wines while living in Manchester. Impressed, he messaged Jonatan to congratulate him, and they quickly bonded over their island roots and love of great wine.

While the winery has quickly made its name by producing vibrant, site-specific white wines that balance opulence and tension, Jonatan and David have also began working with Listán Negro. They source fruit from San Mateo in the north of the island at 1200 metres above sea level. Made with 20% whole bunch, it is refreshing and herbal, with savoury undertones.

Bright red wild strawberry and red cherry fruit. A subtle savoury white pepper adds lift and complexity, with silky tannins and a mineral edge that reflects its volcanic origin.
