Tschida Merlot Spätlese
£17.95
Showing a vibrant salmon pink in colour, really attractive nose of wild strawberries, sour cherry, rhubarb and some herbaceous notes. Sweet but lifted palate of red fruits and a hint of spice. Really energetic and fresh for a dessert wine with persistent length.
Great with salty hard cheeses as well as blue and both fruit-driven puddings and chocolate desserts. A very versatile dessert wine.

Description
Hans Tschida is a “stay at home” winemaker, he has won “Sweet winemaker of the year” an incredible nine times in total. Hans greatly enjoys tending to his 40 hectares of vineyards, 70% of which is dedicated to white grapes for sweet wines, in the quaint winemaking town of Illmitz on the right bank of Neusiedlersee. It is a place that seems to have been created to produce great sweet wines, with foggy autumn mornings giving way to dry sunny afternoons, producing perfect conditions for the development of noble rot (botrytis cinerea).
