Walter S. Siegel established himself as a vineyard owner in 1897. It wasn’t until 1937 that the Siegel wines were known in the UK, when his son Hans formed an unusual alliance with English cricketer Ian Peebles. Hans honoured his father by naming this wine after him. And, so, the Walt Riesling was born.
With roots as a wine made by the nuns of the area, this medium-bodied Riesling now has lovely flavours of peach and stone, with a hint of apricot. Perfect with spicy, Thai dishes.
