Esk Valley Artisanal Syrah
Hawkes Bay Syrah with a nose of raspberries, spice and pepper. In the mouth the wine is soft and generous with flavours of red berries and jam, an underlying acidity provides elegance and length. Delicious as a young wine it will also reward cellaring.
The grapes for this wine were grown in two contrasting Hawkes Bay sites. The free draining stony gravels of Gimblett Road provide the wine with dark fruit notes and a tannic frame while the limestone soils of the Heipipi Vineyard in Bay View adds perfume and complexity. Both these free draining vineyard sites are planted with the Limmer clone and are aged from 12 to 25 years.
The Hatchling Red Blend
Who’s to say how many different grapes can go into a wine? Leftfield hatched an idea to make the most delicious red wine they could, and this is where they landed, smack bang in the middle of Leftfield with a velvety smooth creation called The Hatchling.
A wine jam-packed full of flavour. Aromas of dark sweet berries, vanilla and spice are matched by a rich and silky-smooth mouthfeel.
Perfect paired with roast lamb, pizza or pasta, and mature strong cheese.
Esk Valley The River Gravels
This wine is a blend of grapes grown on the stony soils of the Gimblett Gravels. The vines in the Ngakirikiri, Twyford and Omahu Gravels vineyards are now approaching 20 years of age and are cropped at low levels to produce grapes of the highest possible quality. All this combines to produce a wine with rich aromas of black fruit and fragrant spicy oak in this sumptuous red wine. The palate is full-bodied with incredible concentration of supple, rich ripe fruit, smooth supple tannins, beautifully integrated oak and great complexity.
Folding Hill Orchard Block Pinot Noir
Tiny volumes of this pinot noir are produced from a dedicated family owned winery. Dark fruits and some oak influence.
