This wine has real character – all the juicy elements of Tempranillo. Cherry-red, purplish, brilliant colour with primary notes of fresh fruit, strawberries, raspberries, cherries and violets with clean mineral tones from the granite, this little natural wine is phenomenal value.
Incredibly easy to drink! Strawberries and cherries on the nose, with liquorice spice. You could serve this slightly chilled to accentuate these wonderful flavours. A lively organic blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese from the heart of the Piceno hills, in the Marche region.
Baglio Gibellina is situated in picturesque Sicily where its vineyards are surrounded by the hills of Salemi and Santa Ninfa. Old vineyards located between 300-600m above sea level are grown on a mixture of clay and volcanic soils with limited yields allowing for the production of outstanding wines with incredible food matching potential.
Jara is the local, Spanish name for the Rock Rose plant which grows wild, and quite prolifically, in this area. It’s beautiful flowers and resinous aromatics contribute to the terroir, and character of the Garnacha wines produced here. Black raspberries and mountain herbs on the nose. The palate is lush and full with an explosion of ripe red fruit, a touch of liquorice, and a smooth lengthy finish.
Nero Di Troia is making a comeback and this is a great example! Not nearly as well known as Primitivo and Negroamaro, it is often found in blends. Aromas of fresh dark plum, cinnamon, exotic spices and tobacco. Firm yet gentle tannins add complexity and length.
The wine has a deep purple-red colour and an intense aroma of blackberries and blueberries. The palate is soft and silky, bursting with spicy flavors of black pepper, dark chocolate, wild berries and vanilla. The tannins are elegant yet persistent. The finish is long and lingering and offers a burst of wild cherries at the end. Made for meatballs.
The nose is complex with powerful aromas of blackberry and blueberry with, rose, rosemary, violets and floral notes as well as a hint of spice. The palate is nicely concentrated and with fine tannis. The flavours of blueberry, plum and blackberry are big, with hints of bittersweet cocoa and a subtle stimulating flavour of mint and violet, dark cherry, blackberry, red plum, earth, espresso, tobacco, dark chocolate, black pepper, black tea, violet. Very complex.

Opta wines come from Dão, a region quickly becoming renowned for wines with finesse and character. Poor granite and sand soils force the vines to work hard, while the area is surrounded by mountains that offer protection as well as presenting challenges. This Touriga Nacional dominated blend has bags of black fruits, berries, plummy, yummy flavours and a very smooth texture.
