Their Vidiano has a very fresh nose, with hints of exotic white flesh fruits such as pear and quince.  Excellent acidity and velvety texture.

The Dafní grape variety was saved from extinction by the Lyrarakis family.  Its name derives from the laurel (bay leaf) plant, which is called “Dáfni” in Greek, as the wine produced resembles these aromas. Ktima Gerovassiliou is the brainchild of Evangelos Gerovassiliou.  He initiated the revival of the family vineyard by planting the nearly extinct Malagousia in 1981.  This wine shows expressive aromas of exotic fruits combined with hints of pepper, orange, jasmine, herbs and a touch of lemon.  Beautifully refined on the palate which is characterised by richness, harmony and a bright lemony finish.

Founded in 2007, the winery is located in the village of Kato Assites, south of Heraklion.  It is a 50/50 blend of Assyrtiko and Vidiano. 

Full of flavours of pineapple, apricots, vanilla.  Full bodied with a crisp acidity and a long finish.  Pair with calamari of course!  This is a truly outstanding wine, recently awarded 95 points from Decanter magazine.

The Monemvasia Winery Tsimbidi was founded in 1997 with a clear objective: to revive the production of Malvasia wine in its birth place. The Frankish name for Monemvasia is Malvasia, which originally lent its name to the wine. In the 12th century and for the
subsequent 300 years, this wine ruled the European world. It is still produced in many countries, but until recently was not being produced in the country of its origin -Greece.

Domaine Foivos, ‘Barcarola’, Kefalonia

The Foivos winery evolved from the historic Mantzavino winery, one of the oldest in Greece. The winery was bought in 1996, and in 1999 Theodorous Orkopoulos produced his first vintages. The winery specialises in rare Greek varieties as well as the better known Robola. The grapes are farmed organically and biodynamically, and Foivos also
explores alternative winemaking practices such as fermentation in Amphora and ageing under water.

This winery is making some excellent terroir-driven wines that rank among some of Greece’s finest. Many people believe Kefalonia to be the next Santorini: watch this space!

Located in the coastal region of Pangeon, Biblia Chora’s vineyard is situated at 380 metres altitude and extends over 78 hectares. With the striking Pangeon Mountain as the backdrop and the sea breeze coming from the Aegean Sea in front the estate, the vines thrive in this mild, Mediterranean climate.

The distinctive and characteristic aromas of apricot and honey from the Semillon blend perfectly with the citrus and lemon notes from the Assyrtiko, with nuances of vanilla and nutty hints adding complexity. Elegant, with a creamy texture, this stylish wine is beautifully balanced by refreshing palate which leads to a long finish. This is something very different and quite special.
