A big, chunky Rhone from a fantastic little cooperative in Estézargues near Avignon. Made with minimal intervention, unfined, unfiltered. Soft red fruits on the palate, hearty, but really approachable.
Slightly floral on the nose with a hint of minerality and pastry. Honeysuckle, peaches and herbs shine through from the Rousanne supported by lovely texture, depth and weight from the Grenache Blanc. A salivating mouth, which is slightly saline and with juicy pear notes.
A deep cherry red with burgundy highlights. Slightly smoky on the nose, the grenache adds it’s trademark black berry flavours whilst the Carignan gives this vibrant colour, lovely tannins and fresh acidity. Cranberry, strawberry and raspberry are evident as well as subtle notes of floral notes such as rose petal and violets.
Domaine les Caizergues is a family-owned vineyard that nestles in the foothills of the Cévennes. All the wines produced on this small estate are made with real passion, dedication and oodles of skill. Rich and fruity, the wines bear witness to the vineyard’s wonderfully warm, sunny climate. They also exhibit all the freshness you would expect from its location high above sea level. The estate is now well on its way towards formal organic accreditation and when it comes to wine-making the philosophy is to keep things simple.
The Cormerais family have cultivated vines for as long as anyone can remember, the passion for winemaking and grape growing has been passed down through generations since the 1800s. Today it is Bertrand who runs the business having joined his father Joel in 1994. His philosophy is very simple – he starts in the vineyard with great attention to detail to produce the very best grapes he can while maintaining great respect for the environment.
Amazing value! On offer for a single bottle, but also a further 10% off in a mixed 6. White flowers and roses on the nose, followed by the freshness of aniseed and mint. Deliciously fruity and refreshing in the mouth, like biting into a fresh peach, with apricot, a touch of delicately lemony citrus notes and grenadine. A pure delight!
Delicious Picpoul from the Montagnac commune. An old legend tells that the Picpoul grape was so browned and sweet at maturity that poultry on the shore of lake Thau enjoyed this sweet varietal when wine-harvest was coming, that’s how the name Pique Poule was born.
Crisp, clean, mineral and simply perfect with the local oysters. With a delicate nose of exotic fruit and white flowers lifted with remarkably fresh acidity and just a hint of saltiness on the finish. A classic from this region and immensely popular right now.
